Position Summary

Qualifications

  • Diploma of
    Educational Assistant with Special Education training
  • Two years working in Special Education preferred
  • Experience and/or qualifications in working with children with hearing impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and a range of neurodiversities
  • British Columbia Teachers' certification is an asset
  • Independent School experience is an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of British Columbia Curriculum and pedagogy
  • Knowledge of the current research on girls and learning, developing critical 21stcentury global capacities
  • Demonstrated experience as an enthusiastic and caring educator. A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in all its many dimensions
  • Collaborative and flexible, supportive, and effective teamplayer
  • Ability to develop strong professional relationships with all stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to educating the whole student
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate technology purposefully to transform learning
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and assessment practices to meet the needs of individual learners
  • Experience using an inquirybased and projectbased learning approach
  • Committed to continuous professional growth and improvement
