JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:

  • Overview: The Balance of Plant subproject is part of the construction of the Site C Clean Energy
- project. The BoP management team will be focused on construction of the core systems inside
- and adjacent to the Powerhouse. Working within a high performing team of Construction- (Management) of the Balance of Plant Contract.

  • Specific duties include:
  • Observes HVAC, fire protection and architectural work scopes to ensure all activities are
planned and carried out in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, including:

  • Safety, Environment, Quality, progress tracking, Inspections, schedule, cost, checking / certify


 Contractors invoice quantity.
  • Directly supervises and provides leadership to direct reports, including Contract Professionals,
Construction Officers and Administrators.- Ensures daily reporting is carried out and supports the preparation of weekly and monthly

reports;

  • Conducts meetings, negotiates claims and corresponds with the contractor.
  • Reviews Issued for Construction Drawings prior to release.
  • Verifies contractor completed quantities, associated with progress payment estimate
submissions.- Accepts contractor completed works on behalf of BC Hydro, including conducting walkovers and

the development of punch lists.- Supports internal and external Project stakeholders, to ensure all applicable protocols,

Qualifications:

***- Technical training in the Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural field resulting in a university degree

in engineering or graduation from a technical institute 2-year diploma program or holding an

  • Electrical or Mechanically based Journey person Red Seal in good standing will be considered, as
- long as it is in addition to supplementary years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in large capital project management,
including hands-on involvement in major construction projects, ideally in a complex multi discipline
- environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in construction methods and procedures in a utility environment.
  • Prior construction management experience is required.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of BC Hydro's (or utility) business operations.
  • Demonstrated organization, project planning, and people management skills.
  • Expert leadership and persuasive influence skills required to lead Site teams and negotiate
successfully with contractors.- Ability to manage a project or series of projects of considerable scope and complexity on time

and within budget.- Knowledge of Contracting principles, health & safety and environmental regulations relevant to

utility construction.- A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent would be considered an

asset.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • This Full Time Temporary role is scheduled until approximately April 202
  • A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain your Driver's License: Class 5 In
Good Standing

  • This location may be eligible for a Remote Incentive of 12% or for a FIFO allowance. Details to
