About the Position:
Reporting to our Director of Animal Care, this role isn't just a job - it's a calling.

As an Animal Care Team Member, you'll be the real-life superhero ensuring our furry companions receive top-notch care and endless cuddles.

From health checks to socialization, you'll be the go-to for animals entering and exiting our shelter.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute each responsibility as outlined in the standards and protocols of the Brant County SPCA.
  • Ensure the health and safety of each animal.
  • Complete animal health exams, vaccinations and administer medications.
  • Be the chef behind our animals' lipsmacking daily diets
  • Embrace your inner stylist by grooming, bathing, and pampering our animal pals
  • Clean and sanitize animal toys, linens, kennels, dishes, carriers, etc.
  • Recording all animal records into software program (e.g., vaccines, medications, and treatments).
  • Make necessary phone calls pertaining to animals under the care of the Brant County SPCA.
  • Extend a helping hand to pet parents with lost/found reports.
  • Maintain outside property according to season and other property maintenance, as required (e.g., Shoveling, etc.).
  • Assist at Vet Clinic as Surgical Assistant L
  • Be the jackofalltrades other duties as needed

Working Conditions:

  • Position involves repetitive physical activity, such as lifting up to 23kg, bending and climbing of indoor step ladders.
  • Expect the unexpected handle surprise animal and human behavior like a pro.
  • Work may include indoor and outdoor activities in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work a schedule that may include some weekends and holidays.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Animal Care/Handling, or equivalent in experience an asset.
  • Police Clearance Certificate is required and must be maintained.
