The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for the general administration of the HR department and primary duties are supporting the HR generalist in the day-to-day HR operations and other office administration duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support administration of the company's payroll, including collecting, data entry and calculating pension and other employee benefits.
  • Follow up with managers and supervisors on employee missing hours, OT, and other payroll adjustment as required.
  • Submit the biweekly payroll to HR Generalist for final approval
  • Create job postings, opening and closing job of requisitions
  • Schedule phone interviews and inperson interviews
  • Conduct reference checks and criminal checks.
  • Provide new employees with New Employee package.
  • Provide other recruitment support as requested
  • Support the HR Generalist in the daytoday HR operations
  • Coordinating and booking HR management meetings and Health and Safety meetings.
  • Handles intake and routes calls accordingly within the department.
  • Sorting mail and informing recipients
  • Record meeting minutes and distribute them accordingly
  • Support the Edmonton office departments as required, data entry, filing, order office supplies, and schedule office maintenance as requested.
  • Provide technical and functional HRIS support to improve systems and processes.
  • Collect employee data, surveys and run reports as requested

Experience, Education, Certifications
years of experience working in an HR capacity, preferably in a similar environment.

  • Administrative support experience
  • Payroll experience experience with ADP Workforce is considered a strong asset but not required
  • CPHR designation also considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with HRIS is considered an asset
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of provincial employment standards

  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent judgment with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work. Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks at one time and to carry them out with a minimum of instruction and supervision
