In this role, you will:

  • Administrative duties such as typing letters, documents, and presentations.
  • Assisting seniors with accessing home and community care services through referrals and providing information of resources available in our community.
  • Answering general inquiries about the programs and receiving referrals.
  • Assisting in volunteer recruitment as required and distribution of volunteer recruitment materials.
  • Handling general inquiries, assisting seniors with home and community care services, and providing information about Red Cross programs and services over the phone.
  • Directing callers to other community agencies or information sources where appropriate.
  • Logging all requests for service calls and producing statistical reports as required.
  • Assisting the Community Health and Wellness Team Lead and program Coordinators to provide administrative support to the functioning of the branch services.
  • Assisting with the following duties may include but not limited to:
  • Processing all mail
  • Maintaining filing system
  • Controlling inventory
  • Updating and maintaining program manuals required
  • Maintaining current data bases

What we are looking for:

  • Organizational skills and the ability to understand detailed information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving problems.
  • Bilingualism an asset.

Working conditions:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number.
  • If you are selected for this role, you will be required to complete a successful preemployment screening process which includes a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
