About the position


Directly supporting the Manager, Inventory & Shipping with the movement and coordination of all rental equipment within the designated rental location.

Key deliverables include accuracy and efficiency of deployment while minimizing the cost and effort required.

The team is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels of equipment and supplies, monitors product levels, purchasing, and movement to ensure availability for clients.

*Regular business hours, weekdays 8:00am until 5:00pm, located at 8301 Eastlake Drive, Burnaby BC.

How you'll contribute:


  • Assist with purchase recommendations through annual capex budget process and ongoing tactical purchase requests.
  • Create and maintain good relationships with vendors to ensure prompt service and favorable pricing.
  • Directly manage inbound and outbound shipping, including subrentals, transfers and purchases, customs, and brokerage.
  • Execute the purchase of equipment, parts, and supplies/expendables, as approved.
  • Manage transfers to and from other locations, as required.
  • Participate in ensuring the accuracy of the inventory database as well as the quality of equipment.
  • Assist with supervision and execution of physical inventory and cycle counts.
  • Monitor equipment utilization and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure clear identification of all equipment, including administration of inventory codes and effective labelling.
  • Assist with equipment forecasting and build forecast reservations.
  • Troubleshoot inventory issues and conflicts as necessary.
  • Assist with review of all subrental PO requests following standard company procedures with the goal of maximizing inventory utilization and profitability, approving sub rental PO's as appropriate.
  • Participate in regular meetings as required (i.e. Department Head meetings, Regional Sales Meetings) disseminating relevant information to affected personnel.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special inventory projects as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 3 years of relatable experience, preferably in an equipment rental environment
  • Solid understanding of equipment; its use, its role within a production, its packaging
  • Knowledge of domestic and cross border shipping
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and transactional processes
  • Working knowledge of inventory software
  • Ability to negotiate and influence decisions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
