QMC Meter Technician


QMC Metering Solutions supplies and integrates several meter technologies to effectively monitor the consumption of electricity, water, gas and thermal energy consumption of commercial and residential properties.

We have offices in Port Coquitlam, Ottawa and Toronto and have a support and distribution network across the country including Edmonton and Montreal.

QMC Metering Solutions is looking for an energetic, highly motivated and resourceful individual.

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing outstanding service and support to our clients in Ottawa.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Obtain and analyze meter data to ascertain accuracy.
  • Gather and analyze the required information to fill out the specifications of the meter on the installation and commissioning documents.
  • Records specific data on the installation worksheet read it by the inspector as well as the gathered data during the commissioning process.
  • Organizes and files the installation records and electronic meter readings.
  • Revises and compiles, in detail, the documentation and pictures obtained on the job site.
  • Ability to work effectively with other QMC team members to meet personal and team assignments.
  • Identifies and reports hazardous conditions to inspectors and supervisors.
  • Recognizes the importance of working safely by observing and following safety best practices that are required to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications
/ Experience.

  • Experience in metering, building automation, electrical or mechanical systems or technology industry is an asset.
  • Electrical Engineering Technician diploma preferred.
  • Driver's License
  • Must be fluent in both French and English
  • Highly skilled in a Windows Office environment, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, a must.
  • Excellent computer skills (Good knowledge of computers and networking is a requirement)
  • Must have own vehicle as position requires travelling to different sites throughout Ottawa and Montreal
  • Travel up to 30% of the time to support the QC market.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be fluent in English
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently when necessary.

Experience:

  • Electrical engineering: 1 year (preferred)
- metering, automation, electrical or mechanical: 1 year (required)
