We're seeking someone who is compassionate and dedicated towards patient care, a strong leader within the clinic and hospital, and has solid communication skills.

The successful applicant will be primarily focused on assisting our vascular surgery team with outpatient assessments both in clinic and at Humber River Hospital.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform inperson assessment and treatment of vascular and diabetic foot and leg wounds.
  • Perform inperson assessment of peripheral vascular disease, including arterial and venous disorders.
  • Perform virtual vascular surgery patient followup assessments; either by telephone or video.
  • Perform procedures: debridement and dressing of foot and leg wounds (under supervision), assist with endovenous ablative procedures.
  • Order appropriate laboratory, radiology and other diagnostic studies.
  • Consistently record and document in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR) on the Accuro and Meditech platforms.
  • Formulate and communicate medical diagnoses and disorders

Referral/Consultation/Collaboration

  • Consult with physicians in accordance with the standards for physician consultation as directed by the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants
  • Arrange for internal and external specialist consultations as required.
  • Office duties: returning phone calls from patients, handling prescription refills, counselling patients regarding scheduled treatments; maintain safe working environment by complying with policies and procedures.
  • Arrange followup appointments as necessary and according to the pathways developed by North Toronto Surgical for ongoing patience care

Education and Specific Job Requirements

  • Must hold U.S. or Canadian BSc (PA), equivalent degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must be certified by either the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (in the U.S.) or the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada.

$50.00-$55.00 per hour
