Based in central Ottawa, Ashbury College's Senior School is currently seeking a Learning Strategist to contribute to the circle of care for our Grade 9 – 12 students.
Reporting to the Director of Student Success and Wellness, and working in a collaborative student success team, you will support and advocate for students with identified learning exceptionalities.
You will promote learning skills development for the whole student body as these lay the foundation for each student achieving their highest academic and personal potential.
writing accommodation plans; Tracking, monitoring, and documenting student progress, ensuring support plans are in place where required.Providing academic learning support and social emotional learning skills to students in the Senior School.
Running after-school student support sessions for academic skill development.
Invigilation and support of students writing in the Learning Test Centre.
You will also teach two classes – a combination of Learning Strategies/other courses depending on sections.
You are a passionate OCT certified educator, holding Special Education additional qualifications (working towards a Specialist) with at least 3 years of experience working with students with identified learning exceptionalities.
