Benefits and Talent Specialist (onsite - based out of our St Thomas, ON location)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent & Culture, you will be a pivotal member of our Talent & HR team and you will lead employee benefits programs, drive rewards & recognition initiatives, and support HR analytics, and other HR initiatives and projects.


What You Bring:

  • 23 years of progressive experience in benefits administration.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation is an advantage.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Group Benefit Products and regulatory requirements.
  • Diligent, motivated, and resourceful.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to establish trust.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Federal and Provincial compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across business units.
  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

What You'll Do:

Employee Benefits Administration:

  • Manage benefits plans, and other related activities & initiatives.
  • Oversee open enrollment processes and respond to benefitsrelated inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate benefit enrollment communications and maintain the enrollment tool.
  • Assist Finance with monthly benefit reconciliation and validate HRIS files.
  • Administer respective payments.
  • Support annual total rewards benchmarking and revision.

Employee Guidance and Support:

  • Provide guidance on benefit enrollment, eligibility, and related matters.
  • Assist employees with inquiries regarding their rewards package.
  • Communicate changes in benefits to employees.
  • Organize and deliver awareness sessions total reward programs for employees.

Recognition programs:

  • Lead the comprehensive design and implementation of diverse recognition programs.
  • Collaborate with different departments and functions to foster the culture of recognition.
  • Align recognition programs with building desired behaviors and fostering a continuous improvement mindset across the organization.
  • Deliver pre
- and post
- surveys to identify the areas for further improvement.

Other initiatives & duties:

  • Organize & facilitate the following employee events: Employee service awards, Retirement, and other projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Workday SME (Subject Matter Expert)
  • HR Analytics & Reporting
  • HR Budgeting
  • HR processes and system automation.
