Egis is currently seeking Intermediate and Senior Traffic Engineers to join our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering Team, located in Ontario offices. The successful candidate will join a leading-edge practice, developing work in multi-modal transportation projects including Transportation Master Plans, Active Transportation Master Plans, Secondary Plans, Area Studies, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, Transportation Impact Studies, Parking Studies, Transit Studies, and other Multi-Modal Studies.

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes:

  1. University Degree in Transportation Engineering/Civil Engineering.
  2. P.Eng. License from the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
  3. 7+ years of relevant experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning services in the consulting sector.
  4. Experience with GIS (ArcGIS), and using Auto Cad and Auto Turn software.
  5. Ability to manage technical analysis, using tools such as Synchro / Simtraffic.
  6. Experience using other transportation software and methods (e.g. HCS, CCG, VISSIM, VISUM, EMME, Aimsun, Vistro).
  7. Thorough knowledge of municipal and provincial review processes, guidelines, and standards.
  8. Project coordination and management experience.
  9. Demonstrated interest in business development activities and preparation of proposals.
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertakes transportation planning and traffic engineering studies including:

  1. Multi-modal transportation studies
  2. Transportation master plans (TMP)
  3. Municipal class environmental assessments (EA) studies
  4. Active transportation master plan (ATMP) studies/projects
  5. Transportation demand management (TDM) studies
  6. Transit studies
  7. Parking studies
  8. Traffic operations and safety studies
  9. Transportation impact studies (TIS)

Actively participates in the preparation of proposals and writing reports including EAs, TMPs, AT, TIS, parking studies, etc.

Completing traffic modelling and analysis with applicable design software (Synchro, VISSIM, VISUM, Aimsun, etc.).

Providing mentorship, guidance, quality control, support and oversight of junior team members to complete various traffic engineering and transportation planning tasks.

Attends and participates at client, stakeholders, and public meetings.

Conduct and lead field studies (site visits, inventories, traffic, and parking counts, etc).

Establishes and maintains good working relationships and communication with clients, department managers, internal and external leads.
