    Description

Required Qualifications

  • 1. University Degree in Victimology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Indigenous Studies, or Social Work or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience acquired from working in the field of Victim Services, or Law Enforcement.
  • Minimum of 3 years' recent relevant experience in the field of victim services or experience as a Law Enforcement member of a Victim Services Program Unit.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the critical role Victim Service professionals play in reducing the harmful effects of victimization and re-victimization
  • Working knowledge of current trends and research in the field of victim services
  • Demonstrated problem solving, strong decision making and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written).
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and new Canadians.
  • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
