Position Details

The ULethbridge Career Bridge Centre for Work-integrated Learning and Career Development is seeking a full-time Career Coach for the Calgary Campus, located in the heart of downtown Calgary.Combining academic programs, career services, and the MyExperience (MET) platform and transcript, Career Bridge is a multifaceted team of experts and service providers working together to support WIL, EL and Career Development at the University of Lethbridge. Reporting to the Academic Director, Career Bridge Centre for Work-Integrated Learning and Career Development, the successful candidate will provide a variety of services including: Supporting students and alumni in identifying meaningful career goals. Providing tools and support to achieve these goals; with a special focus on international student support Providing information to students and alumni on career pathways, educational options, and employment opportunities Connect stakeholder partners (students, alumni, employers, faculty and staff) to career support and recruitment pathways Deliver professional development workshops, presentations, working sessions and events to support stakeholder groups, departmental and University initiatives Facilitate Career Fair event planning and delivery Assist with pre-professional program applications and exam preparation Create career-development content for dissemination in-person, digitally, and via social media Assisting with special ad hoc team and departmental projects as required Career Coaches provide a range of services and resources to help students bridge the academic world and world of work, help guide personal growth and decision-making in the context of career development, and to navigate the transition between school, job search, and meaningful employment.The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification review for Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) positions. As such, the classification level currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project. Position Qualifications The successful candidate will possess excellent professional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work creatively and collaboratively as part of a team. The ability to manage multiple priorities is considered an asset. Critical qualities for this position include a positive attitude, the ability to take initiative to drive departmental outcomes, and the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm in our partners. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated skills in organization, leadership, workshop delivery, event planning, and social media. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to services for students and the ability to maintain confidentiality in a complex environment.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and additional coursework and/or experience in the career development field. Preference may be given to those possessing a CCDP designation or a Career Development certificate or diploma. A minimum of 2-4 years of experience working in career advising and employment counselling is preferred. CLOSING DATE: June 30th, 2024 Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4, $5,403.00 monthly Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $4, $6,034.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 11)
