Your Opportunity:


The Vehicle Equipment Supplies Service Technician (VESST) assists with the oversight and readiness of the EMS fleet of vehicles including ambulances and all EMS support vehicles.

This position includes the maintenance of, or assisting with the maintenance or repair oversight of, EMS medical devices and EMS specific equipment.

The VESST, under direction of a BSOS management team member, or in cooperation with the Fleet and Equipment Coordinator, ensures that EMS vehicles are deep cleaned every 180 days and that preventative maintenance is completed as per legislative and policy requirements and servicing of specified equipment as required under provincial regulations and the AHS EMS processes is completed.

VESST support for medical equipment and/or medical assistance is required in some cases.

Examples of such support include, but are not limited to, large scale emergency incidents, events that require special equipment such as bariatric resources, emergency preparedness simulation exercises, or public education/public relations events.

Having the ability to travel throughout the province of Alberta is necessary and overnight stays away from their home base will be required to support provincial maintenance on a biannual basis.
