The Operations Central team for CertainTeed Canada is on the lookout for their next Process Champion. Reporting to the Quality and Process Senior Manager for the Interior Products Group, you will be responsible for providing process support for manufacturing operations across the 5 Canadian gypsum drywall plants.
The primary role:
As our Process Champion, you will back the plants' cost reduction initiatives, instigate change to enhance performance and sustainability, with speed and aligned with the business context.
You will establish and maintain strong relationships with the plant teams to boost communication and provide hands-on expertise when needed.
You will also collaborate closely with R&D, Product Management, Purchasing, Engineering, and other departments in the Saint-Gobain group to develop new products, qualify raw materials, implement capital projects, and more.
- Identify, plan, prioritize, and execute process-related opportunities for cost savings and CO2 emissions reduction.
- Collaborate effectively with Global Process experts to propel process improvement programs and assess technologies that enhance plants' technical capabilities.
- Work closely with R&D, Purchasing, and Plant teams to test and qualify new or enhanced raw materials.
- Coordinate with Product Management, R&D, Engineering, and Plant teams on New Product Developments and Industrialization.
- Aid in the execution of capital projects linked to productivity, cost, quality, or energy-efficiency enhancement.
- Offer prompt Process Assistance to plants to address Production and Quality issues by applying sound troubleshooting principles.
- Deliver technical training to plant employees engaged in Technical, Process, or Quality functions.
- Compile and Benchmark best practices to facilitate the sharing of information among the plants.
A plus for this role:
A pivotal position to coordinate activities among all Gypsum sites in Canada; an excellent chance to have a versatile role involving travels.
Additional details:
This role is based in Mississauga near Toronto, with travel to all Gypsum plants in Canada situated in Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Vancouver. This is a 24-month assignment.

- Master's degree in general engineering, chemical, or process engineering, or a related field.
- Industrial work experience in Technical, R&D, or manufacturing areas.
- Experience with World Class Manufacturing methods and tools.
- Project management, prioritization, multitasking.
- Analytical skills with quality and process test results, savings calculation, etc.
- Leadership and motivational skills to drive change.
- Exceptional teamworking, collaboration, interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication proficiency in English and French.
- Prior experience in gypsum manufacturing is a bonus.
- Prior experience with Industry 4.0, data science (python), data analytics (PowerBI) is a bonus.
