Your Opportunity:


The Coordination Center Team Lead provides support and day-to-day operational leadership for the Patient Coordinators and a variety of community health partners.

The Team Lead provides operational support and leadership under limited supervision in accordance with designated patient care protocols and guidelines, Alberta Health Services policies and procedures and the EMS Health Disciplines Act of Alberta.

This Team Lead will be a patient advocate who effectively communicates and interacts with other allied health care professionals and community service partners.

The Team Lead also maintains an ongoing patient care role in the community health setting.

Serve as a role model for staff and/or students relative to clinical competence/excellence, compassion, and positive enthusiasm for Community Paramedic services.

As a Patient Coordinator Team Lead, you will provide coordination and day to day operational leadership for the paramedic staff and a variety of community health services.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong understanding of process and procedures for Calgary Mobile Lab and Pharmacy services. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong understanding of Goals of Care/Advanced Planning. Advanced understanding of palliative medicine and end of life care. Strong understanding of community health documentation and procedure standards. Completion of courses pertaining to grief support and Non-violent crisis intervention.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of health databases is an asset i.e. PARIS, NETCARE, Connect Care. Advanced knowledge of pharmacology and geriatric medicine. Experience and/or education in Community Paramedicine. Experience in the MIH Coordination Center as a patient coordinator. Experience providing staff leadership and mentorship. Experience in clinical or administrative education and/or learning. Experience with project management, stakeholder engagement, committee attendance and chairing of meetings.
