Position Summary:

To assist the Materials Department in becoming World Class through the coordination of shipping materials. This position is responsible for coordinating all shipping-related activities within Materials. The Shipping and Materials Administrator will improve the department and themselves through training and continuing education.

What You Will Do:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for coordinating the shipping and processing of materials.
  • Coordinating all shipping functions, including working with all intercompany departments.
  • Support expediting process of workorders.
  • Research materials issues, define and resolve root cause of any shipping variances.
  • Prepare and provide regular reporting on all KPIs (daily).
  • Ensure shipping area has processed timely shipments according to the schedule (scorecard).
  • Coordinate all shippingrelated documents, ensure information accuracy and documentation is attached to required materials.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Customs, Fed Ex/UPS, Proforma and other requirements.
  • Coordination of materials going to suppliers or customers.
  • Attend and participate in departmental toolbox meetings.
  • Provide leadership with required weekly operational excellence updates.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of all required office/shop supplies.
  • Assist in ensuring inventory accuracy and working towards the achievement of inventory goals such as timely release of work orders, reduction of obsolete inventory, inventory adjustments, record keeping of subinventories, and managing uncontrollable items.
  • Assist in the development, communication and deployment of policies, guidelines and tools to ensure success in all processes.
  • Assist the Materials team in achieving the budget in materials supplies, salary/indirect labor, overtime, and operational expenses.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the supply base in support of business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance to ISO Procedures, work instructions, and 5 P's and promote continuous improvement within the department.
  • Promote and facilitate Lean manufacturing / 5 P's programs for materials.
  • Maintain a safe work environment; adhere to safety policies, procedures and processes.

Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Education in a related field is considered a plus.
  • One to three years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or shipping role is highly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate, establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Oracle experience would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, detailoriented, and a selfstarter that is motivated to achieve tasks within set timelines.
  • Ability to adapt to rapid change and work effectively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Prior Lean manufacturing and 5S experience is preferred.
