The Area Service Manager (ASM) leads a cluster which consists of sales and service engineers.

This ASM position will form part of the Bühler North America Customer Service Management Team and report to the Head of Buhler Toronto.

Tasks

  • Customer understanding: Identifies and understands customer needs. Assign customers to a segment and create a customer account plan
  • Customer and market development: Segment specific development of customers. Observes market trend in own cluster.
  • Relationship management: together with the team the ASM manages customer relationships with focus on CS topics
  • Sales and quotation support: responsible for initiating quotation process for spare/wear parts and services. Generates sales leads for equipment/plant business. Travels % to customer sites
  • General Management: manages and plans a team of Cluster and is the interface to backoffice. Ensures communication between the Cluster and the Sales Account Managers. Develops strategy of the Cluster for the Midterm Planning/Budget and controls the cost of Cluster
  • Must arrive at work predictably and promptly
Required qualifications

  • Social competence and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Sales flair (experience desirable) with a strong operations manager background
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to understand customer needs when it comes to operations processes
  • Has the knowledge of major value drivers of customer P&L and ability to explain impact of Bühler services
  • College degree or equivalent
  • 35 years' related experience
  • Track record of customer contact and providing a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of French
