The Institute for Better Health's Strategic Design & Business Development (SDBD) team is responsible for working closely with programs and groups to lead and support the codesign of meaningful, scalable and innovative solutions to shape a healthier and more equitable tomorrow for the hospital and community. The SDBD team is seeking a passionate and creative Graphic Designer to support the design, development and production of IBH and project communications, marketing and business development materials.
Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Design and Bussiness Development, the Graphic Designer is a visual communicator and storyteller who can translate briefs and develop assets for various mediums that help synthesize and communicate ideas that align with our audience with the overall goal of improving health services, products and experiences. Design tasks will include event creative, website and social media content, proposals and pitches, reports, infographics and much more. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional designer that can translate, synthesize and edit materials into clear communications for the intended audience in multiple formats, has experience in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment working with diverse people of interest on developing communications materials, and has good working knowledge of digital media, production tools and applications. Candidates will be required to submit a portfolio as part of the interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
Translates briefs and concepts into creative media, graphics and layouts for IBH branded awareness materials, including reports, pitches, presentations, event materials, web and social media content Responsible for aligning creative content with existing brand guidelines and standards Work closely with the project team and leads to understand intended audience and communications objectives to develop and refine creative to achieve goals Responsible for aligning with and sharing timelines with team members to deliver projects within scope and on time and flagging issues if necessary Provide design guidance and advisory to team members on materials and development projects Liaise with external printers as needed to collect quotes, ensure deadlines are met, and ensure projects are executed to the highest qualityTechnical Skills:
Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint and Word in particular) Proficiency in photography and video production and editing is an asset Knowledge and experience with UI/UX and web design is an asset Familiarity with design thinking and innovation frameworks is an asset Strong knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube)Other Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in graphic design or communications AND/OR at least 3 years of experience developing creative assets in various media Must have outstanding design skills and updated portfolio Strong organizational and project management skills that enable ability to work independently and efficiently in a busy environment managing multiple projects, shifting priorities and tight deadlines Adaptable team player with the ability to work in an interprofessional and collaborative environment with a commitment to excellenceApplication Instructions:
