Under the direction of the designated supervisor is responsible for enabling public access to
branches after hours and securing the building.***
DUTIES:open and close building for programs and activities that take place outside the normal
operating hours of the branch

operate the alarm system
provide direction advice to the public
implement emergency procedures as required and ensure the building is secure
responsible for limiting public access to appropriate areas of the branch
empty book drops
clean furniture, floors and sidewalks to maintain a safe environment
perform other duties as required
physically arrange equipment and furniture before and after bookings, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent education and experience
Understanding and appreciation of the philosophy of public service to all, in accordance

with human rights legislation and the principles of equity and access in the delivery of
library service

Ability to perform duties independently
Ability to deal with the public with courtesy and tact
Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations
Be bondable
Ability to communicate with the public and staff
Ability to handle moderate physical exertion

SALARY:
$21.62 per hour (2023 Rates)
