SUMMARY


The
Sustainability Lead, Greenhouse Gas, Waste responsible to work with the client(s) to develop and implement Sustainability strategies and initiatives within the assigned account(s), specifically related to reduction in greenhouse gas production and waste reduction.


This role will work in collaboration with all key BGIS departments to ensure full support of all activities and play a key role in our INTEGRATED approach to operating buildings.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Ownership and Regulatory Compliance

  • Comply with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and mandated by BGIS Health Safety and Environment Teams and enforced by law.

Infrastructure Climate Resilience

  • Single point of contact for IO for all Sustainability matters related to reduction of greenhouse gas production and reduction of waste.
  • Responsibility to facilitate the fulfillment of Sustainability deliverables within the contract including:
  • Completion of sustainability section of Energy, Sustainability and Climate Resilience Action Plan.
  • Management of compliance of LEED Operational credits.
  • Renewable systems management.
  • Electric vehicle charger management.
  • Storm water systems management.
  • Waste audits and reduction plans.
  • Development and implementation of waste reduction strategies that will address waste substances produced, used or stored in clients managed properties. Tracking, analysis and reporting of the reduction measures implemented.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of the operation/maintenance of real estate infrastructure. (5+ years' experience in environmental or sustainability consulting or operations)
  • Strong knowledge of the environmental management theory and practice. (2+ years' experience related to waste management)
  • Strong knowledge of the sustainability and waste management theory and practice.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
LEED accreditation would be an asset
