- Lead the Mechanical design team to accomplish the Experimental department's objectives in support of Bombardier's development, certification and fleet support requirements by ensuring teams deliverables are produced according to first time quality standard, on schedule and within budget.
- Take concrete actions and interventions to maintain a safe workplace and act on prevention in Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Work to build an engaging, safe, diverse and inclusive workplace for all in accordance with Bombardier ethics and compliance policies.
- Drive for the highest Quality standard and be accountable for Engineering Quality, Quality metrics and Quality improvement initiatives.
- Establish Improvement initiatives plan (Strategic and technical) and drive for continuous Improvement & firsttime right mindset for the Experimental Design team.
- Embrace Bombardier Operational Excellence System, it's deployment and take concrete action to eliminate nonadded value.
- Manage employee performance, set yearly operational objectives, provide continuous feedback.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, mentoring and training to enable employees reach their goals and deliverables.
- Establish Team critical skills, gap analysis and crosstraining plan to optimize flexibility and ensure knowledge transfer in preparation of future Aircraft program development.
- Establish yearly budget and support quarterly forecasts to evaluate the team manpower requirements and plan shortterm and longterm resources allocation.
- Play a crucial role within Bombardier Experimental department, participate in and contribute to the success and achievement of a multitude of unique and challenging projects.
Qualifications
- You have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with a minimum of twelve (12) years of aerospace experience.
- You already have a minimum of 3 years of management experience with direct reports, including executing performance appraisals, managing staffing allocation and career development.
- You demonstrated history of recruiting, retaining, and promoting world class talent developing staff members to optimize their potential and their performance.
- You have experience and knowledge of aircraft ground testing (Systems, Structural and Wind Tunnel) and flight test aircraft outfitting engineering.
- You have experience in aircraft structural and aircraft systems engineering disciplines.
- You have knowledge of CATIA V5 & ENOVIA design tools.
- You have an open mindset when it comes to Problem solving. You see problems as an opportunity to improve and grow. You prioritize root cause analysis and you take concrete actions to define and deploy long term solution. You have experience with indepth analysis of symptoms, root causes and impacts of technical problems.
- You are comfortable working in a high volume, fastpaced, rapidly changing, resultsoriented work environment.
- You are able to meet aggressive deadlines, comfortable to work under pressure, and you have a sense of urgency.
- You show very strong leadership skills, judgment, flexibility and the ability to influence others.
- You demonstrate good communication skills and you are bilingual (French and English)
- You are eligible for registration in the Canadian Controlled Goods Directive (CGD) Program
- You are a member of Quebec's Order of Engineer.
