SCOPE:


The
Health Projects Lead will coordinate, build capacity, and support health projects to ensure effective training and services are provided to Indigenous women and their families, in a culturally rooted, holistic way while ensuring Indigenous women are supported in navigating through the health care system.

The Lead coordinators will ensure curriculum, training, and program services are implemented and produced according to the program standards and guidelines, build capacity in program sites across the province, provide development support, and facilitate the achievement of the program deliverables.

They will lead, coach, and support a group of employees while ensuring ONWA's vision, mandate, and objectives are met and aligned with ONWA's Strategic Plan.

They will lead health-related projects and oversee the smooth operations and delivery of health-related training including networking provincially.

The lead coordinator will advocate, create, implement, and train on specific topics related to safe access to healthcare services and work to ensure best practices are implemented.

They will be responsible for liaison between health partners and keeping the health team up to date on any changes including new initiatives across Ontario.

The Team Lead and Program Developer will be inclusive of all nations and include indigenous health and land-based teachings in all training programs through a two-eyed seeing approach.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Postsecondary diploma/degree in Health, Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Women's Studies, or business with a minimum of three (3) years' work experience in a leadership position or supervisory/management role.
  • Demonstrated experience providing services to Indigenous families and/or communities.
  • Working experience on issues related to Health Care Systems. Thorough understanding of Public Health (Community wellbeing) Systems and Indigenous health care systems.
  • Knowledge of the history and jurisdictional issues that impact Indigenous
  • Understanding of contextual factors influencing Indigenous community wellbeing (public health), including the social determinants of health.
  • Strong awareness of issues affecting Indigenous women and their families and awareness of Community resources provincially.
  • Strong communicator with excellent written, oral, and facilitation skills, and the ability to effectively network with all stakeholders to find collaborative solutions to complex issues.
  • Solutionoriented with proven analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Knowledge of and relationships with other health care or social service agencies, ability to network and create/maintain these relationships.
  • Experience with resource development and implementation, programming, processes and procedures, workshops, engagements, and/or conferences.
  • Experience with financial planning; to plan and manage programs/projects and support planning processes and reporting, including resultsbased planning and annual plans.
  • Strong project management and time management skills with the ability to proactively plan to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, and engage in reflective practice with constructive dialogue about professional development.
  • Capacity to solve problems and to see different perspectives.
  • Highly motivated, punctual individual with the ability to work with mínimal supervision, and under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to critically think and able to manage stressful situations.
  • Sets and maintains highperformance standards while practicing independently to achieve results, with an ability to follow through on assigned duties while maintaining strict deadlines.
  • Has the ability to form professional and collaborative working relationships and function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
