PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the HR Analyst, you will support the CPKC HRBP team. You will be primarily responsible for the delivery and support of HR Business Partners on a variety of activities related to Employee Life Cycle processes, Immigration & Cross Border Support. These accountabilities could include documentation of employee-related changes such as promotions and internal movement, organizational chart creation, immigration intake, and data gathering, HR metrics reporting, and working closely with our Employee Services team to answer employee inquiries.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

HR Life Cycle Process Management:

  • Assist with documenting related processes, workflows, and manuals
  • Preparation of documents related to internal employee movement, performance improvement plans, terminations, and other employee relations matters as required by the HR Business Partner team
  • Creation and maintenance of organization charts and position management tracking for internal clients
  • Support the HR Business Partner team in the preparation and delivery of key annual programs including strategic planning, goal setting, and performance, succession, and compensation reviews
  • Contribute individually or as part of a team to deliver on HR-related projects such as employee engagement, continuous improvement, and retention initiatives or career fairs
  • General human resources administration support to the HRBP Team
  • Generate scheduled reports and perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required

Immigration & Cross Border Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for internal clients, addressing inquiries and providing basic guidance on immigration processes and requirements
  • Assist clients in gathering and organizing the necessary documentation for their immigration cases as well as submitting documentation to immigration vendors for processing
  • Maintaining organized and up-to-date files and renewal tracking
  • Monitor and track case progress, providing regular updates to clients and senior team members
  • Assist in cross-border processes and documentation, ensuring approvals are managed throughout
  • Performs other duties as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of a University Degree in an applicable field or equivalent
  • Flexibility and adaptability to frequently changing priorities and deadlines
  • Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as a part of a dispersed HR team
  • Ability to exhibit discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SAP or an equivalent HRIS system; an asset
  • Previous experience in data analysis and reporting is an asset as is experience in immigration request intake and data gathering

Management Conductor Program:
