The Real Estate Development Manager is responsible for seeking out and securing new restaurant sites to ensure the continued growth of the Boston Pizza System.

As well, he / she acts as a consulting resource to the existing franchisees in the areas of site selection, lease negotiation and site analysis.


Responsibilities

  • Participates as a member of the Franchising Department in producing an annual sales plan identifying the potential markets for development;
  • Responsible for acquiring new sites to achieve budgeted store openings;
  • Establishes and maintains extensive contacts with developers and other members of the real estate community to ensure that Boston Pizza has access to a constant supply of suitable new restaurant sites;
  • Analyses potential markets and sites using demographic information and other relevant criteria as set out by Boston Pizza to ensure that they meet developmental standards;
  • Under the criteria set out by Boston Pizza, submits offers to lease to developers and landlords to secure new sites;
  • Prepares proforma information to qualify the economic viability of potential sites;
  • Initiates and oversees the site approval process ensuring that the Director of Franchising and senior executive are involved in the approval process;
  • Liaises with other departments, specifically the Director of Construction and Development, to ensure information flow is coordinated as needed;
  • Liaises with outside suppliers, specifically BPI's architectural firm, to ensure that proper documentation is secured for each site;
  • Takes on other specific projects as directed by Director of Franchising from time to time.

Qualifications
years' experience working in property or land sales

  • Commercial Real Estate License or Urban Land Degree or equivalent
  • French language is an asset.
