The Communications and Community Affairs Specialist (CCAS) reports to the HR Manager and aids the Marketing and Communications Manager in enhancing the positioning of the Carbon Engineering brand through public relations, stakeholder engagement, and local media activities.

As a passionate storyteller, the CCAS serves as a link to raise awareness about CE's technology and mission in the communities it operates in.

  • Engage with local stakeholders, organize events, evaluate partnerships, and develop programs benefiting the community.
  • Assume responsibilities for various activities in Squamish, BC, including supporting visits to the CE Innovation Centre and engaging with the community.

This role supports in developing and executing communication and community engagement strategies, coordinating activities, researching, drafting materials, and establishing relationships for stakeholder engagement.

  • Research and analyze trends, recommend public engagement efforts, and support local public consultation.
  • Assist in generating media coverage, maintaining support materials, and handling media inquiries and events.

Additionally, contribute to crisis communication, work with external agencies, and support international PR and communication activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 8-15 years of experience in Community Relations and Communications within cleantech, climate, energy, or related sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept at crafting compelling narratives and press materials.
  • Excellent relationship building abilities, collaborating with senior executives and across cultures.
  • Willingness to work flexibly to accommodate collaboration with CE's global team.
