High Performance at Neo

We recruit, hire, and build our company culture around these attributes:

Teamwork: We trust, respect, encourage, and show up for each other — through good times and hard. We're on this mission not just for ourselves, but also for the people we work with — and ultimately, for our customers.

Ownership: We all have a stake in Neo's success — so we go out of our way to do what needs to get done. We hold ourselves accountable to deliver on our commitments — to our customers, to our partners, and to our team. When we fall short, we find a way to do better in the future.

Professional Integrity: We're asking millions of Canadians to trust us with their hard-earned money — so we hold ourselves (and each other) to the highest standards of integrity.

The role

Our Financial Crimes team navigates through a fast-paced environment and knows how to switch gears to adapt to any scenario. They're motivated leaders who want to make things better, simpler, and stronger. The Senior AML Investigator is a highly analytical hunter and a pivotal component of our financial crimes practice, leading the AML Investigators and the team towards successful practice and development of money-laundering processes. Deterrence is the name of the game here - this role focuses on senior identification of events that constitute true financial crime. You will gather, compile, and provide relevant documentation to FINTRAC and law enforcement.

This role is located in Calgary, Alberta.

What you'll be doing:

  • You provide quality assurance on Suspicious Transaction Reports to ensure relevant facts and context are captured.
  • You identify gaps in Neo's ecosystem that may present increased financial crime risk.
  • You take a proactive approach to money laundering detection by recommending mitigating controls in response to investigation findings.
  • You collaborate with banking partners, law enforcement, and other professionals to combat financial crime as a collective.
  • You effectively communicate the root cause of financial crime incidents to relevant internal stakeholders to promote general financial crimes awareness.
  • You keep abreast of trends in the Canadian financial crime landscape to identify emerging threats to Neo.

Who we're looking for:

  • You have a robust knowledge of Fintrac requirements
  • You have significant experience creating and reviewing STRs
  • You're a relationship builder, driven to learn from others and share your knowledge
  • You have a strong attention to detail and picking out patterns
  • You have strong writing and report building skills
  • You have over 4 years conducting AML investigations.
  • Designations such as CAMS will be considered an asset

Our team members earn meaningful equity in the company through stock options — so Neo's growth benefits everyone who helps make it happen.
