Position Overview
Provide integrated reception services using a person-centred approach as well as clerical support for the Ontario Works department.

Duties and Responsibilities

Receptionist:

  • Perform reception services such as connecting members of the public to the right service.
  • Addressing inquiries as well as obtaining information and supporting documentation.
  • Complete various clerical duties such as data entry, filing scanning and processing mail.
  • Use the provincial database as well as other relevant technologies to complete the various responsibilities of this position.

General:

  • Incumbents must keep uptodate on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
  • Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis.

Qualifications
Minimum Formal Education

  • Enrolled in a college level office administration program.
  • Completion of year 1 of a 2 year college level office administration program preferred.
Experience

  • Work and/or volunteer experience with office administration responsibilities in a social service office setting preferred.
Summer Student positions with the County of Lambton may be dependent on funding and the funding criteria, which specifies that students must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age
  • Registered as a fulltime student in the previous academic year and returning to school on a fulltime basis in the next academic year
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Will not have another fulltime job
