Your role:

We are seeking a skilled and diligent Physical Security Systems Specialist to join our dynamic team.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our organization's physical assets, employees, and information systems.

You will be responsible for tasks associated with the installation and maintenance of Access Control, CCTV and Intrusion Systems.

This position requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a secure and productive work environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, and troubleshoot security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarm systems
  • Assists on new projects in both existing areas and new construction helping with security design, assessments, vendor selection, technology upgrades, product selections, testing, field verification of systems and inspection of work in progress
  • Perform updates, patches and backups of security servers and equipment
  • Assists with security systems integration, mapping, and helps train select employees in the use of these systems
  • Conduct regular inspections and monitoring to ensure the functionality and effectiveness of security infrastructure
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of security incidents, investigations, procedures, and system configurations
  • Generate regular reports on security metrics, trends, and compliance status. Present findings and recommendations to management as needed
  • Participate in audits (SOC, ISO, etc.) as the main point of contact for any security systems as required
  • May involve travel to remote offices for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and training
  • Establishes and coordinates alarm codes and keeps a record of those having access to such codes
  • Oversees the onboarding and offboarding process. Responsible for issuing, assigning and decommissioning user access rights for access control cards and intrusion systems

About you:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in corporate security, physical security, or related technical fields
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in configuration and management of security systems comprised of access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarm systems
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills to identify security risks and propose effective solutions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment
  • Willingness to stay updated on emerging security threats, technologies, and industry trends
  • Experience with Lenel is an asset
  • Experience with Avigilon is an asset
  • Experience with DSC and Honeywell intrusion systems is an asset
  • Experience with fire panel and elevator access control integration is an asset

Physical requirements:

  • The role will involve working from ladders
  • Ability to use hand tools and or power tools to complete installations and repairs
  • Extended periods of standing
