Cost Analyst

Cost Analyst preferably with large earthworks and construction projects experience. Nuna is the largest Inuit-owned heavy civil construction, earthworks, and mine construction contractor in Canada.

You will have experience reviewing bidding proposals for work packages. You will be able to break down actually site spending and compare this data to the original packages and create exceptional reports on the profit and losses for every aspect of the project.

Your reports will be presented to the executive teams so exceptional communication skills both written and verbal are required.

This role will work extremely close with the maintenance department and accounting departments.
This role will also be able to jump in and assist with some simple corporate accounting duties when required. Having some accounting experience is an asset.

_ Duties/Responsibilities:
_
- Analyzes expenses and cost transactions.
- Forecast and analyze costs of processes, labour, and inventory.
- Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs.
- Estimate product costs for existing and new products.
- Provides detailed financial analysis and reports, includes breakdowns of project costs, forecasts of remaining expenses, and opportunities to increase efficiency.
- Conducts market research as needed.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
- Forecast future fleet requirements.
- Support development of annual equipment rates.
- During project estimation stage, participate in project specific equipment rate development.

- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software as well as accounting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards and Power BI.

- Accounting or Business diplomais an asset.
- At least three years of related experience required.
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License
