JOB SUMMARY
The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the production department.

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, including cooking, smoking, meat production, scheduling, data-driven results, key performance indicators (KPIs), continuous improvement initiatives, and quality checks.

The Production Manager will lead a team of supervisors and production staff, setting and achieving production goals while maintaining the highest quality standards.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules that align with customer demand and inventory levels.
  • Manage and coordinate all production activities, including cooking, smoking, and meat production.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and finished products.
  • Adjust production schedules as necessary to accommodate changing priorities or unforeseen issues.

Leading team and driving results:

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor production leads and staff to achieve production targets.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production team.
  • Implement datadriven processes to optimize production efficiency and quality.
  • Analyze production data, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production performance.
  • Report on KPIs and take action to address any areas that do not meet targets.

Labor Management:

  • Effectively manage the allocation and utilization of production staff to meet production goals.
  • Monitor labor costs and productivity, ensuring that labor resources are efficiently utilized.
  • Plan and oversee workforce schedules, including shift assignments and overtime as needed.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of production personnel.

Quality Control and Continuous Improvement:

  • Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards and procedures.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the production process.
  • Identify and implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all production activities adhere to safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in production management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to make datadriven decisions.
  • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
