Reporting to the Manager, Logistics, the
Import-Export Technician is responsible for participating in the daily operations and providing support to the Manager.


Responsibilites;

  • Ensures that paperwork and monetary transactions are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and according to trade laws.
  • Is familiar with a variety of business concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Exercises a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Calculates tariffs, duties, and price conversions.
  • Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, customs officers and brokers
  • Delivers high level of communication with external and internal customers regarding orders and status thereof
  • Provides logístical and transactional support for shipping orders to insure the expediting of orders to meet business revenue goals and exceed customer expectations
  • Arranges for preshipment inspections as needed
  • Coordinates schedule of shipments with freight forwarder and broker
  • Reviews and confirms export documentation.
  • Manages Broker invoices
  • Responds to and resolves customer concerns/issues in a proactive manner.
  • Identifies repeat problems, resolve to eliminate future occurrences.
  • Supports sales with transactional tasks related to the purchasing of product from suppliers

Knowledge and Skills Required

EDUCATION
College degree in Administration or related area

EXPERIENCE
3 years of experience in Import / Export

SKILLS

  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Microsoft D365 is considered an asset
  • Teamwork
  • Customer Service
  • International Trade Knowledge would be an asset
  • Bilingual: French and English (spoken/written)
