Position Description:


The
Professor, Digital Marketing, School of Marketing, is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective, learning-centered environment for students through the design and delivery of curriculum within the School of Marketing at George Brown College.

The professor will teach courses to students in all years at the degree and diploma level, and in particular, in the
Bachelor of Commerce Digital Marketing program and the Post Graduate Certificate program in Digital Marketing, in addition to other degrees, diplomas and certificate level courses when required.


Education / Certification / Designation:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or Communications (or equivalent) and a Masters in Business (or equivalent, and with an emphasis in marketing) are required.
  • A PhD in Marketing (with an emphasis in marketing metrics/analytics, omni channel marketing, and/or digital marketing (or equivalent) is required.

Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience with digital marketing platforms such as Sales Force, Constant Contact, Hootsuite, and/or other/similar tools is preferred.
  • A history of scholarship and peer reviewed publications will be an asset.
  • Prior postsecondary teaching training and experience in adult instructions techniques, and curriculum design experience will be preferred and will be applied in a variety of teaching and learning settings.

Knowledge / Skills Set:


A thorough knowledge of current trends in digital marketing practice, with proven ability to teach the entry-level practitioner in the classroom and lab setting will be required.

Academic leadership experience in a post-secondary program is an asset.

  • Must have experience with advanced learning technologies, including online delivery.
  • Involvement in innovation and professional development related to teaching, use of technology, and student success.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and lifelong learning.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College's priorities on diversity and equity.

Interview process will consist of a mock teaching experience and, in some cases, a practical skills component.
