Join us as the Director of Resource Development, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's future. In this dynamic position, you'll work closely with the Executive Director and our dedicated team to lead our annual fundraising campaign. From orchestrating engaging events to fostering strategic partnerships, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts to secure vital resources for our mission. Your keen strategic thinking and collaborative approach will be instrumental as you identify campaign strengths, uncover opportunities, and address challenges head-on. Specific Duties:

The Director, Resource Development will execute the annual campaign with focus on the following goals and activities:

  • Actively participate in periodic campaign reviews and analysis and recommend changes to enhance the campaign based on analysis and evaluation.
  • Implement a campaign plan with specific strategies, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Work with staff on production of, and be responsible for distributing, campaign marketing materials and media releases.
  • Work closely with the Cabinet to formulate key campaign initiatives, support their execution, and effectively reach all campaign sectors.
  • Ensure effective training modules are being delivered to all workplaces.
  • Support campaign volunteers and develop strong relationships on behalf of the United Way within campaign workplaces.
  • Plan, organize, provide strong leadership, and manage campaign-related events, competing projects, and support workplace campaign events.
  • Identify challenges and troubleshoot with guidance from the Executive Director.
  • Promote the United Way positively wherever possible, positively engage stakeholders and agencies to foster strong stewardship for UWLG.
  • Serve as Senior Management as required.
  • Comprehend budgetary constraints, operate within them creatively, and strategize to enhance revenue/donations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Five years relevant experience in fundraising or sales management, preferably in a not-for-profit organization.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing plans, projects and reports.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining professional and business relationships.
  • Basic understanding of budget management.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to present to groups in various forums.
  • Familiarity with federal, provincial and local poverty dynamics.
  • Possess a vehicle and valid driver's licence.
