The position at a glance


Americas Compliance is an independent governance function headed up by the Chief Compliance Officer for the Americas (Americas CCO) based in New York with responsibility for Compliance activities in North and South America.


Montreal Compliance nearshoring platform reports also to the Americas CCO and services the Americas Region on several Compliance Function activities.

Responsibilities:You will be part of the Transversal Risk Management (TRM) team in Montreal reporting to the Head of TRM in Montreal and ensure regional coverage of testing and monitoring activities for BNP Paribas in North and South America, with a primary focus on Independent Testing and Operational permanent control

More specifically you will:

  • Assist with related Compliance activities as needed.
  • Support the Independent testing team with tasks which may include assisting in testing, reviews, preparing materials, organizing meetings, and taking minutes.
  • Support Compliance Operational Permanent Control team with risk and control selfassessment (analysis of processes, risk, and controls mapping), perform set up of corrective actions plans and formalize the control plan.
  • Monitor and remediate third party risk management issues.
  • Monitor and analyze Historical Incidents & Potential Incidents
  • Assist in control plan related activities including managing control plan, training with tool(s), control testing, control reporting.
  • Assist with related Compliance permanent control activities as needed.
  • Respond timely to stakeholders' information or analysis requests.
  • Take part in reporting process.
  • Develop close partnerships with Compliance team management, Compliance Domains, Group Compliance, and Permanent Control managers and staff across CIB Functions
  • Promote a compliance culture within the firm including knowledge update on a regular basis.

Minimum Required Qualifications

The desired skills for this position include:

  • Finance Bachelor or master degree.
  • Strong analytical, organizational abilities, project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, investigative and root cause identification skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Power BI is a plus.
  • Excellent execution skills with the ability to work successfully under demanding deadlines.
  • Team player with ability to work collaboratively across Compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High ethical standards.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a new and changing environment.
  • English is a must, French and/or Spanish are a plus

  • Must be able to work in the local premises with a valid visa
  • Has graduated less than a year ago or will graduate by June 2024 from an accredited post-secondary program
  • Has less than 1 year full-time professional experience excluding relevant internship experience
