Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Team Lead, the Benefits/LOA Assistant is a specialize role in a high volume, complex environment where they are responsible for providing end-to-end administrative support to the benefits processes for Covenant Health employees.

The Benefits/LOA Assistant performs independent, moderately complex work including changes affecting benefit enrollments, life claims, terminations, processing Leave of Absences and Return from Leaves, reconciliation of benefit premiums as required, follow the terms of many collective agreements regarding benefit eligibility and coverage and work on resolutions for more complex inquiries.

The Benefits/LOA Assistant will respond to customer queries via ServiceNow as required.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Human Resources is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum of 3 years' experience in an HR Environment. Must have strong comprehension of the English language and must be able to articulate to clients. Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel. Ability to function independently in a high demand, multi-tasking environment. Experience working with multi-union environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Direct Peoplesoft experience is considered an asset. Experience in a multi-unionized environment and knowledge of Covenant Collective Agreements.
