Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the Site Executive Director for the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the Manager is accountable for the Royal Alexandra Hospital Professional Practice Office, Connect Care and Clinical Informatics and is responsible for delivering effective and efficient patient services within a matrix management structure providing leadership for program, site and zone.

The Manager provides strategic planning, implementation and performance measurement, improved outcomes in efficiency, effectiveness, quality and safety of care, patient and staff satisfaction while meeting the vision, mission, and business plan of Alberta Health Services for these programs.

This is accomplished through providing leadership in developing, implementing, and monitoring the administrative/operational systems, processes and practices to facilitate effective patient flow and care with harm reduction focus through the continuum of care.

The Manager is accountable for the hiring, development, and displacement of staff and evaluating and managing the performance of professional and ancillary staff.

The Manager maintains collaborative working relationships and facilitates the implementation of changes to the structure and processes in order to accomplish improved outcomes in patient satisfaction, quality care, and cost containment.

It is expected that the Manager will work with other managers, directors, physicians, and disciplines on site, within the zone, and the broader community to ensure that quality, evidence-based practices are utilized within service provisions at the RAH.


Description:


Key leadership role in supporting healthcare workers and patient care services with accountability for the Professional Practice office in the hospital.

This role chairs two key quality committees at RAH - Site Practice Council and the Royal Alex Improvement Team (RAIT); in addition to overarching responsibility for site wide education (ex.

CPR, It's Your Move, etc.).

Responsible for delivering effective and efficient patient services, meeting needs for the vulnerable populations within a matrix management structure providing leadership for the program, site, and zone.

Accountable for the Professional Practice Office (PPO) implementing strategic planning and working in collaboration with the community and Health Canada to align plans and implementation in the operational environment.

The PPO provides support and expertise regarding practice questions and participates on committees and working groups pertaining to site, zone and provincial needs.

Oversees implementation of quality initiatives across the site.

Role accountability for site immunization campaigns and Site related education and training including staff orientation, BLS, and annual compulsory education.

Participation in and accountabilities for emergency preparedness work.

Clinical Informatics is another area of responsibility for this role, and with RAH being 6 months post launch on Connect Care there is a high demand for data and analysis to inform decision making at the site.

Wound Care also rolls up to this role, which includes oversight of wound care across the site, as well as being accountable for chairing a RAH Wound Committee that is getting restarted on site.

Required Qualifications:
