Lactalis is looking for a Washup/Filler Operator to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Start equipment, observing temperature and pressure gauges, and opening valves for continuous product flow to equipment.
  • Operate equipment according to standard operating procedures to achieve the daily production target.
  • Responsible for changeovers, servicing, and sanitary maintenance of equipment.
  • Equipment checks for malfunctions and proper sanitation and taking appropriate corrective action.
  • Operate cleaninplace (CIP) and cleanoutofplace (COP) systems.
  • Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment.
  • Receiving of cases and completing paperwork, running case room and all equipment.
  • Supplying all pertinent documents and reports, as may be required by management or the government, in an accurate and legible format.
  • Report to Manager/Supervisor immediately of any food safety and/or quality issues (ie foreign materials, sanitation issues, health & safety issues, etc).
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, Quality Regulations, 5S, SOPs and other pertinent policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Maintain a safe work area and support health & safety programs (wear proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Cardinal Rules, WHMIS etc).
  • Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas.
  • Take on additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Dairy/sanitation experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of plant and equipment operations (ie filler machines).
  • Forkilft certified.
  • Good mathematical, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to identify, problem solve and research alternatives within the scope of the job.
  • Good reading, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and in a team based environment.
  • Additional experience, training or education asset.
