The Alberta Brain Injury Network (ABIN) program is part of a larger provincial network providing service coordination and delivery to support individuals and families living with the impact of an acquired brain injury.

The scope of work and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide support and coordination of services to individuals with acquired brain injury.
  • Connect individuals to appropriate services in the community.
  • Respond to crisis situations.
  • Work with individuals in their own homes and in the community.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other service providers.
  • Support and educate clients and family members.
  • Assist individuals in accessing income support.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of clients.
  • Work from a culturally competent, strengthsbased framework.
  • Maintain up to date, professionally written case notes, and report writing.

Desired qualifications and skills include:

  • A minimum o f a twoyear Diploma in a human services discipline.
  • A minimum of 34 years of direct client experience, preferably in the area of brain injury.
  • Strong foundation and understanding of brain injury, addictions, mental health.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of community resources and how to access them.
  • Comfortable and competent in working independently.
  • Confidence in dealing with conflict and complex situations.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License, registration and insurance are required.

Please note:
This position requires extensive travel (agency vehicle) throughout Central Alberta year-round

Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:15am - 4:30 pm hours per week).
