Reporting to the Executive Director, the Economic Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for member support, research, grant writing and review, project and program coordination, data collection and analysis and ad hoc assignments as needed.


Specific Accountabilities

Job Knowledge_

  • Experience in turning strategic ideas into deliverable action items
  • Ability to analyze data, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Prepare and present reports
  • Provides information to Executive Director regarding business and economic development activities across the Central Alberta
  • Proactively researches new partnership and funding opportunities and identifies business resources relevant to the region
  • Represents the organization in the absence of the Executive Director
  • Ability to take on diverse Economic Development projects within CAEP's roving Economic Development support program
  • Takes on a variety of duties as assigned, that may not be part of the regular daytoday expectations

Education & Certifications

  • Postsecondary education in a related field such as Economic Development, Commerce, Business Administration or Marketing
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License
  • Certification as a certified Economic Developer (Ec.
D. or CEcD) -_an asset_

Abilities and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in business development, project coordination, entrepreneurship, sales or related fields
  • Strong statistical and analytical capabilities
  • Superior customer service skills with both internally and externally
  • Advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft office programs (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel), database maintenance
  • Familiar with CRM software and inquiry management systems
  • Superior communication skills in writing, verbal communications, and presentation skills
  • Organizational habits to understand, realistically plan for and meet deadlines, while adapting to changing demands and priorities
  • Knowledge of local government or public sector culture, practices, and procedures is an asset.
  • Enjoys a broad range of work from administrative and/or routine, through to conceptual and strategic
  • Flexible demeanor to easily manage a variety of daytoday tasks and a work environment where no two days are alike
  • Thrives in an environment where prioritization happens on the fly, and is confident reorganizing work priorities in accordance with the bigger picture objectives
  • Enjoys working with a variety of people and the broad range interests and needs they have
  • Sees what needs to be done and takes initiative to deliver on outcomes

Contract length: 12 months

Salary:
$27.00-$32.00 per hour
