Electrical Service Technician Job Description
The Troy Electric team is looking for a qualified and dedicated electrician or similarly trained professional. We are a growing company in its 51st year being in business. We offer competitive wages and benefits with a diverse work environment.

The person holding this position must be flexible. There will be some multi-tasking but there will be boundaries to avoid excess stress.

The division of these areas and how they are to be managed will be discussed with the person holding this position to make them as manageable and as efficient as possible.

Although not critical to this posting, an electrical red seal is preferred. This job involves service calls, conversing with customers, and working in a team environment.

This position will often require this person to be working independently, therefore we are looking for a person who is task driven, self-motivated and an independent thinker that can complete jobs on time and within budget.


Responsibilities:

  • Install, diagnose, repair, and maintain electric motors and associated equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on various electrical systems.
  • Perform testing and inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their electrical needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Document all service activities and maintain accurate records.

Skills:

  • A strong background in electrical and mechanical experience is required.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving is beneficial.
  • Indepth knowledge of electric motor components, controls, and systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Must hold a valid BC driver's license.
  • A strong background in safety processes and procedures.

Physical Characteristics:

There is a need to raise an extension ladder, lift moderately heavy tools, minor scaffolding and equipment.

Because of the physical nature of the job the following criteria are important to be met by the person filling this job posting:

  • Physically capable of completing the previous tasks mentioned above.
  • There will be occasions when this person may have to work at heights and tight spaces. Therefore this person must be reasonably comfortable working in these environments.

Because much of the work will require access to restricted areas it will be necessary for any person filling this position to pass background checks required by corporate customers, federal and provincial government and agencies.

$36.00-$41.00 per hour
