to support First Nations, local host governments, health care, education and community programs across the province.

The Manager, Information Security assists in setting the direction for BCLC's Information Security program and leads BCLC's Information Security team to protect BCLC's information assets.

This role is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of an information security governance framework, developing risk identification and mitigation strategies to support the operations and objectives of BCLC.

The Manager, Information Security works proactively to address risks and issues and implement best practices in information security.
Leads the Information Security team in support of BCLC's Cybersecurity program, key business initiatives and corporate strategies.

Establishes and maintains a risk focused information security governance program, assessing BCLC's information risk and compliance, and overseeing activities related to the protection of BCLC's information assets against unauthorized/accidental alteration, loss, disclosure or destruction.

Manages resourcing and delivery of Cyber Security projects and audits.

Establishes and maintains a framework of information security policies, standards and procedures based on industry best practice and BCLC's business requirements.

Develops and manages relationships across the organization, evangelizing cyber security and championing industry leading security practice.
Works with technical operational managers to develop and maintain processes.
Supports and assists business units in the integration of security components and processes into systems.

Models leadership behaviors that support employee engagement, such as practicing meaningful recognition, inspiring a shared vision, communicating with employees regularly, coaching/mentoring, conducting performance management, and supporting culture and change management initiatives.

Sets objectives and evaluates the performance of team members to help identify competency gaps across the department and addresses them to achieve strategic initiatives.

Develops and executes training and education activities to promote a culture of information security awareness throughout BCLC.
Degree or diploma in Information Security or equivalent in a related discipline, supplemented by industry-recognized professional courses;
Technical Requirements
Excellent ability to manage relationships at all levels with vendors, leaders, contractors and team members;
Understanding of information security frameworks (e.g. SSAE16, SOC1/2), and regulations related to data confidentiality;
Ability to manage time efficiently and ability to plan and organize workload and consistently meet deadlines, often under pressure;
Knowledge of testing and configuring firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, security incident and event monitoring systems, file integrity monitoring and database monitoring
Knowledge of vulnerability assessments and penetration testing using a variety of tools and techniques
Strong technical skills (Application and OS hardening, vulnerability assessments, security audits, networking, IDS, firewalls, etc.)
