Job Purpose:

As a Workplace Solutions Specialist, you will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients (including ministries, agencies, and the broader public sector), interior design/architectural consultants, and project management service providers. Your role will involve developing design options, analyzing program requirements, and implementing industry best practices to create agile workplaces aligned with government objectives and user needs. Additionally, you'll contribute to the continuous improvement of our OPS Modern Office Space (OMOS) enterprise design standards and establish Change Management processes.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the Manager, Workplace Solutions, clients, IO business units, interior design/architectural consultants, and project management service providers.
  • Assist IO's Client Advisory team and consultants in developing business cases for incorporating Office Accommodation Space (OAS) standard and OMOS enterprise design standards.
  • Collect functional program requirements and develop high-level reports, including headcounts and special requirements.
  • Execute feasibility space plan options aligned with OMOS enterprise design standards, OAS standard, and Activity Based Working principles.
  • Lead client engagement visioning sessions to understand objectives, values, and concerns related to workplace solutions.
  • Develop and update Change Management guidelines and standards as well as create communication materials to support Change Management initiatives.
  • Prepare and present change management tools to support the implementation of an enterprise change management approach.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise design standards for real estate projects (workplace and special purpose). Including an annual review to capture lessons learned and any new mandated regulations/ policies.
  • Utilize occupancy data from various platforms (e.g., Occupancy Master Drawings, Occupancy Data, Baseline) to provide comprehensive reports on our overall portfolio standing.
  • Establish and maintain linkages with the real estate industry to keep up to date on issues and trends concerning public/private sector changes.
Who We're Looking For:
  • A post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in interior design or architectural design.
  • A strong background in interior design or architectural design is essential for this role. You should be familiar with space planning, aesthetics, and functionality in work environments.
  • Substantial working experience in interior design or architectural design.
  • Excellent creative and design skills, the ability to read and interpret architectural drawing, and knowledge of functional programing and schematic design.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office.
  • Change management skills are valuable in workplace solutions. If you have experience with the ADKAR model or other change management methodologies, it's a plus.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code (OBC) and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) is crucial.
  • Familiarity with various systems furniture products is advantageous. You'll be involved in selecting and recommending furniture solutions for office spaces.

The salary range for this position is $82,800 to $124,100 with a corresponding job level of P4.
