Job Description:

As a Media Relations Specialist, you will play a vital role in managing our company's relationship with the media and ensuring that our key messages are effectively communicated to the public.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic media relations plans, building strong relationships with media outlets, and promoting our brand through various media channels.

Your creative thinking and excellent communication skills will be crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the organization's forwardfacing ambassador and spokesperson.
  • Produce engaging social media video content to deliver our message.
  • Develop and execute media strategies to enhance the company's brand visibility and reputation.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, bloggers, and other media professionals.
  • Take an active role in planning, promoting, and attending various events.
  • Proactively pitch stories and secure media coverage in relevant print, broadcast, and online media outlets.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage and provide timely reports to management.
  • Coordinate press events, conferences, and interviews, ensuring maximum media attendance and positive coverage.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing and executive teams, to align media messaging with overall business objectives.
  • Stay updated on emerging industry issues and media opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience in media relations, public relations, or a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft compelling messages.
  • Strong network of media contacts and a track record of securing media coverage.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful media relations strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of business trends, media landscapes, and emerging communication channels.
  • The ability to handle sensitive issues with tact and professionalism.
  • French language is considered an asset.
