Instructor, Creative Communications and

Communication Management (Term)

D U T I E S
A part-time Instructor is required to teach courses in the Creative Communications and
Communication Management programs. Courses will include Public Relations and
Communication Management (in-person, on campus) and Advanced Media Strategy (online), and
may include Marketing Data and Analytics. Drawing on extensive professional experience,
Instructors are expected to lead dynamic, engaging instruction to students, both in-person and
online. We focus on helping students achieve the learning they need to be successful in industry,
and our instructors must share that commitment. Duties will include the preparation of course
materials and assessments, instruction of students and evaluation of course materials. Duties
related to instructing include curriculum development and maintenance, preparing course
outlines, maintaining student records, student evaluation, assisting in College activities including
student orientation, graduation, and relevant committees.

  • R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
  • Undergraduate degree in a communicationsrelated field. A combination of education and
- experience may be considered
  • Significant and relevant experience in the practice of public relations, organizational
- communication management, and/or media strategy
  • Progessive experience with integrated marketing campaign creation and management with

- data-driven results
  • Relevant experience in digital media content creation and management
  • Proven success using Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing in online

- communication initiatives
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets and/or other similar spreadsheet management

- tools
  • Professional experience in corporate, government, and/or nonprofit environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning
and continuous improvement

  • Specific postsecondary training in public relations and communication management, ie. RRC
Polytech Creative Communications diploma with a specialization in Public Relations and
Communication Management.

  • Professional experience teaching adult learners.
