Mgr, Rail Contract Management, the successful candidate will support commercial negotiations for rail freight contracts and agreements, working to ensure cost-efficient rail transportation of Nutrien's Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potash products .

The successful candidate for this role will be the primary analytical support in helping to develop the strategies for Nutrien's rail freight portfolio and long-term contractual commitments and work in close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

Primary responsibility for complex analysis, modeling, and data visualizations needed to support the development and execution of Nutrien's rail freight contract strategies.

Support optimization activities for Nutrien's rail freight portfolio, with spend in excess of $700M annually, focused on cost management and value generation.

Responsible for performing scenario analysis using multiple sources of data and making recommendations basis the results.

Actively participate in developing long-term contract strategies with consideration for terms, rates and service levels that address both opportunities as well as risks for Nutrien.

Responsible for conducting regular and comprehensive rail freight market data gathering and analysis activities, developing an internal perspective in support of negotiations and strategy development.

Responsible for developing the reporting and presentations needed to appropriately communicate contract negotiation updates to stakeholders including senior leadership.

Collaborate across the rail team to support and oversee near-term and monthly rate analytics
Develop ad-hoc rate and spend analysis and reporting as required.

Identify opportunities for process enhancements, automation and cost savings in rail shipment rating and routing procedures, contributing to overall operational efficiency.

Support IT initiatives including testing, maintenance, upgrades and enhancements of various internal systems and programs.
Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with significant skills in contract analysis and negotiation, preferably within the rail transportation industry.

Understanding of rail operations, regulations, and market dynamics would be considered an asset.
