BWXT Medical Ltd. is currently hiring for the position of
IT Manager (Medical). This position can be located in either Kanata, Ontario or Vancouver, British Columbia.

JOB PURPOSE:


The IT Manager (Medical) will be responsible for overseeing and managing all business systems within our manufacturing facility for the BWXT Medical Ltd.

business group in Kanata and Vancouver.

JOB STRUCTURE AND COMMUNCATION:


The IT Manager (Medical) reports directly to the IT Director, Global Applications and reports indirectly to the BWXT Medical CEO.

The IT Manager (Medical) will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, research and development, and regulatory compliance, to ensure the seamless integration of IT systems that support our manufacturing operations while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

IT Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement the IT strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management and Corporate CDO to identify and prioritize IT initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.

Manufacturing Systems Integration:

  • Partner with manufacturing teams to identify IT requirements for process optimization,automation, and data analytics.
  • Lead the implementation of manufacturing systems, such as: Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance productivity through ITenabled solutions.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as FDA regulations, 21 CFR Part 11, data privacy laws, and industry standards.
  • Implement and maintain robust IT controls and procedures to support regulatory audits and certifications.
  • Foster a culture of data privacy and security awareness among employees and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Develop and implement a data governance policy as well as a workforce training program for data use, management and security.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a highperforming IT team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage IT budgets, resource allocation, and vendor contracts effectively.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend innovative IT solutions for manufacturing processes.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in IT management, preferably within a healthcare manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems, such as MES, QMS, and ERP.
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements, including FDA regulations and data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities, with a focus on driving results.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP) would be a plus.
