Nucor Insulated Panel Group, A Division of Nucor Corporation is currently seeking some enthusiastic applicants for the position of Team Lead for our Hamilton, ON location.


Reporting to the Plant Manager, Team Lead provides leadership and direction to teammates regarding safety, production, and quality, as well as monitoring workflow to guarantee on time delivery and achieve manufacturing objectives.

Working in the manufacturing area, the Team Lead's duties will be primarily but not limited to the production of Insulated Metal Panels (IMP's) on a continuous line, while managing up to 23 plus direct reports.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accomplish manufacturing results by communicating job expectations, planning, coordinating, and monitoring manufacturing team while appraising job results.
  • Assist in recruitment process by performing interviews and onboarding duties including guiding orientations and training, as well as developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Complete production plan through scheduling and assigning teammates, coordinating duties to accomplish objectives and monitoring processes to determine priority and corrective action.
  • Maintain workflow through monitoring processes, setting processing variables, observing control points, equipment, and production requirements.
  • Study methods, implement cost reduction strategies, develop reporting procedures and systems and facilities corrections to malfunctions within process control points to enhance workflow and processes.
  • Collaborate with teammates, maintenance, quality assurance and leadership team to correct production related issues.
  • Responsible for soliciting and communicating potential improvements in processes that could reduce costs, increase quality and/or improve delivery of products while maintain operating budgets.
  • Ensure all equipment is in functional and operable by initiating repairs, follow up completion, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Compile, produce and analyze manufacturing data including answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment through leading and educating teammates on use of all control points, equipment, resources, and compliance of policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to team by accomplishing related results as required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma or 5 years professional experience in similar role.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing process experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of production management, including various types of manufacturing equipment (manual and automated assembly technique).
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, diagrams, work instructions, blueprints schematics, gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applicants with advanced knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple demanding tasks.

Special Demands

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, walk extensively and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in noisy, hot, and cold temperatures.

$19.13-$30.49 per hour
