Short Description of the Position:

The Digital Content Manager works closely with all departments across the MNjcc.

Responsibility is mainly in three key areas within the department:
strategy and content maintenance of our website; social media strategy and fulfilment; compiling content and writing newsletter.

Schedule:

37.5 hours per week (Onsite / Hybrid / Virtual). Choose how/where you work

9am-5pm EST is preferred but you may choose to work flexible hours if approved by your supervisor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the MNjcc website ensuring all materials are current, correct and complete. In consultation with programmers and all departments, suggest web revisions and improvements that will maximize the site's effectiveness as a marketing vehicle.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance (QA) re: marketing language and proper graphics on all activities within Amilia (program registration site)
  • Using digital content calendar, plan, schedule and populate daily social media content to fulfill all marketing initiatives for the MNjcc and its partners and programs, working to always raise awareness of the J brand, and improve recognition.
  • Strategize, gather and write content for biweekly enewsletter "The Pulse" to keep patrons informed of activities occurring at the MNjcc. Use Wix analytics to understand and predict reader behavior and optimize reader experience.
  • Coordinate departmental newsletters to ensure a timely and effective release of materials and ensure that they have approval by the Director, Marketing & Communications.
  • Manage the MNjcc's Google My Business Profile to ensure that the J always has updated hours, promotional posts, highlights, photos and current services
  • Using Google Analytics, pull requests for statistics whenever needed
  • Schedule and promptly provide a detailed marketing and communications onboarding to new staff that will need the services of the Marketing Department.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Completion of a digital marketing/communications/journalism and/or social media course of study; and/or 5+ years of related work experience;
  • Experience in a nonprofit/community centre/arts and cultural or similar organization is an asset;
  • Strong writing skills that can adapt to reflect the voice of the MNjcc engaging, friendly and show personality;
  • Basic understanding of Canva (is an asset)
  • Please note that full vaccination against Covid19 (or valid accommodation) is currently required to work inperson at the MNjcc at this time.

Main Competencies:

  • Great attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to sometimes meet tight deadlines;
  • Ability able to take the reins and work independently when needed;
  • Willingness to accomodate occasional afterhours requests to post on social media or create alerts on website when emergency/extenuating situations occur, e.g. pool closures, weather cancellations, etc.
