Your responsibilities will include performing a variety of cleaning and sanitizing tasks, following infection control and safety protocols, and ensuring that areas are prepared for medical procedures and patient care. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to support patient services and contribute to delivering the best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion. This full-time, regular/at-will position requires flexibility to work shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends as per the collective agreement. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to complete workload assignments with minimal supervision, and demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and thoroughness. Regular and punctual attendance is essential, as is the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, which include lifting, standing, walking, and operating various equipment for extended periods. MAHC offers a supportive team environment, staff referral program, enrolment in HOOPP, and is committed to an inclusive and barrier-free selection process and work environment. Salary for this hourly position ranges from $24.44 to $25.07, with no per diem. Travel is not required for this role. Applicants must have a Secondary School Diploma and complete the Public Health Ontario's Environmental Toolkit within one month of the start date. As a condition of employment, external hires must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital's Occupational Health and Safety department. Required Experience
  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Successful completion of Public Health Ontario's Environmental Toolkit based on the Best Practices for Environmental Cleaning for Prevention and Control of Infections, PIDAC 2018, within one month of start date
  • Previous environmental aide experience in a healthcare facility is considered an asset
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment
  • Proven track record of maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment in previous roles
  • Experience with various cleaning and sanitizing tasks
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Experience in operating cleaning equipment
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination as required by the Hospital's Occupational Health and Safety department
